Interfaces

show ip interface brief
sh ip int bri
Shows each interface, any assiciated IP addresses and if the interface is up or down.

show interface
sh int
Displays extensive information regarding each interface.

  • Up or Down
  • VLAN ID
  • MAC address
  • Connection speed / configuration
  • Duplex mode
  • Packets, Errors

show interface FastEthernet 0/1
sh int f0/1
Same as above for a specific Interface

show interface switchport
sh int sw
Displays extensive information regarding the switchport configuration

  • Mode: Access or Trunk
  • Encapsulation Mode

show interface FastEthernet 0/1 switchport
sh int f0/1 sw
